Cartenoids
Carotenoids are a class of pigmented compounds responsible for the vibrant colors of many fruits and vegetables. These phytochemicals are known for their antioxidant properties and potential benefits in promoting eye health and reducing the risk of certain cancers. Cryptoxanthin, found in the fruit of Mangifera indica (mango), is studied for its role in promoting skin and eye health. Fucoxanthin, a carotenoid found in brown seaweed such as Undaria pinnatifida (wakame), has been investigated for its anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory effects.
